This wasn't an easy choice for a few reasons, the main one being that there wasn't just one Hottie that clearly owned the horror landscape in 2008. Anna Paquin though, not only starred in one of the best TV shows of the year (True Blood), and stars in one of the most acclaimed horror flicks of the year (Trick R' Treat), she's also really hot.
Sookie Stackhouse truly makes True Blood what it is; she's sweet, demure, has supernatural powers, wears clingy outfits, and falls in love with a vampire... and she ends up in all sorts of trouble from being covered in blood to being stalked by a serial killer. Her powers of hotness keep her alive though, as who would want to kill such a cute girl? Plus, she gets naked a few times. A great performance in a great show.
Trick R' Treat, however, has me baffled. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE who has seen it have nothing but raves about how great it is, and yet Warner Brothers has been toying with it and refusing to release it since 2006... More on that in another post coming soon. I really want to see Anna in this one, as I think she plays the "doomed innocent virgin" to a T.
I can't wait until 2009, when we will get to see more of Anna in Season 2 of True Blood, a strange horror flick named Metamorphasis, and hopefully, finally, a wide release for Trick R' Treat. Until then, we'll always have the memories of 2008.
Amber Heard (All the Boys Love Mandy Lane)- another film that has been in release limbo since 2006, Amber is SMOKING hot. Can't wait to see her next year in The Stepfather remake.
Lizzy Caplan (True Blood, Cloverfield)- Damn, why did she have to die on True Blood! She was so hot.
Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter, Quarantine)- Dexter is one of the best TV shows on the air, and Quarantine was pretty decent. Emily Rose is still doing horror proud.
