A really quick review of the new DVD, which whets the appetite for the remake hitting theaters next Friday...
No other horror icon, save for Dracula, is more recognizable than Jason Voorhees is. 30 years, 12 movies, 146 victims, dying 3 times, a grain sack, a hockey mask, A boat trip, going into space, fighting Freddy... and he's still going strong.
This documentary will make anyone who grew up watching F13 in the 80's squeal with delight. Stars and creators from the past come back and share their insights and memories of the films with us, and watching it all is just pure fun. Interviews, clips, unseen footage/photos, insight into the behind the scenes on each movie... this DVD has it all. The bonus disk is packed with a crazy amount of extra interview footage and other things too, which it makes the price of the DVD worth it just by itself. It will keep you busy for hours.
If you love Jason, Friday the 13th, documentaries, or horror in general, this is a must watch/own.
A+
I think you should buy/rent the DVD just to support horror in general, but if you can't, Encore will be premiering His Name Was Jason on Friday the 13th at 8 P.M.
