It has been a tense 2 weeks in Washington for President Obama. The photos show the strain of the debt ceiling crisis etched on his face. They were with her ’til the end: Amy Winehouse’s five bodyguards took turns guarding her while she was alive. But they couldn’t save her when Winehouse, 27, died of a drug overdose early Saturday in her $4 million London flat. Yesterday, the day of her funeral, the 5 men joined together one last time to accompany her body to the Golders Green crematorium where she was cremated, per Jewish custom. Afterwards, they posed with a box containing her ashes.
The man in the center of the photo is Andrew Morris, the bodyguard who found Amy’s lifeless body in her bed on Saturday. He’s the one who called for an ambulance, though no one could save her. An autopsy performed on Winehouse the day after her body was found was inconclusive.
